Through my project Soldiery: British Army Portraits, I had the distinct privilege of working with several transgender personnel, capturing their stories and contributions to our nation's security. Among them was WO2 Deborah Penny, a trailblazer who became the first transgender British soldier to serve on the front line.

The Heroes in Focus Foundation is proud to have funded an extraordinary series of portraits featuring the Coldstream Guards, one of the most iconic regiments in British military history. These portraits, masterfully captured by Rory Lewis, have been donated to the National Army Museum in London, preserving the legacy and valor of those who serve in the British Armed Forces.
